Entering the world of high-end watches, particularly vintage ones, can be a daunting and formidable, not to mention expensive foray. That is particularly true in a country like Hong Kong; this tiny nation of 7 million inhabitants is also the world's largest importer of Swiss-made fine timepieces, accounting for roughly 30% of all the watches produced. That means Patrick Tsang of Hong Kong's The Vintage Concept is perfectly placed to help potential buyers navigate the sometimes murky water of pre-owned fine vintage watches. With more than 15 years in the industry, Patrick Tsang has learned to tell a legitimate, vintage dial from a touched-up number with little effort. We got to sit down with Patrick as he took us through three of his personal favorite vintage watches: A Rolex GMT 1675 from 1966, Rolex Tropical Daytona Sub Dial 6263 from 1973, and a Rolex Submariner 5513 from the 1970s.
