The Mayor of Greater Manchester has hit out at the Government's handling of the rail travel chaos in northern England. Andy Burnham said that whilst "the Tory Party's been tearing itself to pieces over Brexit, rail services in the north have been going down the pan". Travel disruption in the north has cost businesses more than £37m and led to a loss of more than one million hours, according to research from the Northern Powerhouse Partnership (NPP).
