This is the terrifying moment an irresponsible school bus driver rides through a flooded road putting lives of 30 children to risk.

After a video of the incident surfaced officials swung into action and canceled the driver’s license.

The incident occurred at a village near Neemuch in Madhya Pradesh, India, on July 21.

A bus owned by Patel Public Higher Secondary School had gone to pick up children from the neighbouring villages. It came across a bridge, which was overflowing with water, due to a flash flood in a local river.

The driver, Ratan Nath, 34, waited for sometime and then took an alternative route which was also flooded.

An eyewitness Ram Madhav, 25, said: There were many waiting to cross the road but didn’t dare to. The bus driver was cautioned but he chose to drive through the flooded road.

“If the current was any stronger, the bus could have been swept away,” he added.

District collector Rakesh Shrivatsav took serious note of the incident and ordered action against the driver.

After a probe, Road Transport Officer Barkha Gaud revoked the driving license of Ratan Nath and withdrew the fitness certificate given to the school bus.

Neemuch CSP Narendra Solanki said further action would be initiated against the driver and the owner of the school.
