Soorma review: It misses the goalpost

Soorma is more of lovestory than a sport film. Based on the life and struggls of former India hockey captain Sandeep Singh, Soorma features Diljit Dosanjh in the lead role, but he fails to add depth to the film. Directed by Shaad Ali, Soorma is lost in translation. Actors like Angad Bedi, Taapsee Pannu and Satish Kaushik try but Soorma never rises above the average. 
Soorma doesn’t attempt to probe beyond the obvious, even if you don’t know the real story. With 131-minute duration, Soorma presents Sandeep as the ultimate boy scout. A tinge of reality wouldn’t have hurt.
