The World Today With Tariq Ali - Pakistan: A Non-Violent Pashtun Uprising

Pakistan will go to the polls again later this month. In a welcome development, a new movement, the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), has forced the politicians seeking election to confront the plight of the Pashtun people in Pakistan. Based mostly in the tribal areas, the Pashtuns bare the brunt of drone attacks, Taliban insurgency and state military aggression, but are rarely discussed in the Western press.

To shine some much needed light on this issue, Tariq is joined by journalist Mahvish Ahmad, who is building solidarity for PTM among the global left, and Zakir Hussain, an organiser for PTM UK.
