On city buses in the streets of Wellington, the procession of icons marks the tension between Pavlov and Koulechov. Ever increasing restrictions on filming in public spaces mean that advertisements, overflowing with people, dreams, imperatives, and slogans, are the only images available for use.

Susan Frykberg composed the original soundtrack for ‘Camera obscura’. The dawn chorus – Te Kōkī – was captured “naturally”.
