Washington To Vote On Proposal To Give Tipped Workers A Raise

According to a report by Reuters, Washington residents will vote on a proposal on Tuesday that would more that quadruple the minimum wage for tipped workers, including hairstylists, bartenders, and servers. The measure, the latest effort to increase pay for low income workers, would raise the minimum wage to 15 dollars an hour, matching that of other workers in the U.S. capital. Last year, voters in D.C. approved a measure to raise the minimum wage from 12.50 to 15 dollars beginning in 2020.
