In this sponsored collaboration with Fairy Non Bio, we asked three Mumsnet influencers to share some of their tips for soothing a crying newborn. From roping in a sibling to provide baby with cuddles to distracting them with a change of scene or playing white noise videos, these mums' go-to techniques for soothing their crying baby have been tried and tested.

Soothing a crying baby when he or she is in full swing can feel like an impossible task. After all, babies cry for all sorts of reasons. Whether it's hunger, tiredness or wanting a cuddle, your baby's chosen method of communication will be turning on the tears - it's their only form of communication, after all.

When you've unsuccessfully tried playing white noise, offering them a dummy and generally checking for anything that might be upsetting them, it can be frustrating not to be able to calm the tears.

Luckily, though, there are ways to settle your baby and stop them from crying (quite so much, anyway). So, tune in now for advice from mums who've been there and got the T-shirt.

If you've got your own techniques for soothing your baby when they're crying, then we'd love to hear them in the comments.
