Massive plumes of steam were captured rising over the east coast of Hawaii, as the US Geological Survey said a fountaining eruption threw lava into the air to heights of 210 feet and continued to feed a channel flowing into Kapoho Bay on June 6.A small explosion generated an ash plume that rose about 10,000 feet into the air that same day.
