An asteroid was discovered by NASA last weekend hours before colliding with Earth. Experts predicted that its size (two meters wide) would disintegrate during its entry into the atmosphere.

Designated as 2018 LA, this celestial body was detected on June 2 by the Catalina Sky Survey project in Arizona (USA). When it was first detected, the asteroid was as far away as the Moon's orbit, and although the lack of tracking data prevented accurately predicting its fall on Earth, a range of possible locations was calculated from southern Africa to New Guinea, explain in the Jet Propulsion Laboratory of NASA.

Finally, the asteroid was reported on the African territory, near Botswana, at a speed of 17 kilometers per second, and disintegrated in the atmosphere causing a bright fireball that lit the sky. The event was witnessed by several observers and by some security cameras.
