Reading the colour of the water helps navigate in the shallow seas of the Bahamas and Turks & Caicos. We keep a lookout for coral heads crossing the Caicos Bank under sail and try out going aloft to extend our view. Sailing in the shallow waters of the Exumas (in the Bahamas) we slow down to avoid coral patches and dive down to check what the bottom looks like on the shallow banks. In the end we drive the boat right up on the beach in the Exuma Islands.\r
