Dad shows how a TOE transplant changed his life
- 5 years ago
A dad who nearly lost his hand in a horror accident has told how he learnt to use his TOES to hold a pen and even peel vegetables.
Stoical Jeremy Payton, 55, had radical surgery to allow him to retain the use of his right hand after all his fingers were “amputated” in a gory industrial accident.
Despite the devastating injury, doctors were optimistic Jeremy would be able to regain the use of his hand - and three of his toes were removed and sewn onto where his fingers had been.
The dexterity in his digits means he can tie shoelaces, write with a pen, and even chop up and peel fruit and veg.
