The new owner of Kai the dog, who became world famous after being abandoned at a train station, yesterday (Sun) said rehoming him has been a “life-changing experience”. Kai the loveable Shar-pei crossbreed was found alone at Ayr train station, Ayrshire, on January 2, where he had been left tied to a railing with a suitcase. He was rescued by the Scottish SPCA, and after offers flooded in from all over the world, he was rehomed with Ian Russell in Newton Mearns last month. Now, a month later, Ian, 52, a self-employed hydraulics engineer, has said he could not imagine his life without Kai in it.
