New Edward Elgar song performed for the first time

A lost work by Britain's most famous composer has been heard for the first time after experts discovered a never before seen manuscript - scribbled inside an old notebook. Sir Edward Elgar - the musician behind patriotic tune 'Land of Hope and Glory' - wrote the songs 120 years ago. But, thinking them unworthy of public performance, he scribbled new tunes on top of the manuscripts and were subsequently thought lost. Experts at The University of Bristol stumbled across the two songs while looking inside one of his untidy sketchbooks shelved at the British Library.
