South Korea can still achieve 3% growth rate target for 2018: Finance Minister

Seoul's finance chief revealed the government has no plans to revise its target of three-percent growth for 2018,... as first quarter growth was above one-percent.
In an interview with a local radio station... Kim Dong-yeon said,.... although on-year export growth fell in April, it picked up this month.
He added that qualitative growth and fair wealth distribution are more important than numerical expansion,... saying sectors other than semiconductors should contribute to economic growth.
The minister also vowed to devise measures focused on raising the competitiveness of Korea's struggling automobile, shipbuilding and shipping industries... that were once the backbone of the economy.
