But fails in controls and waterproofing \r
Quality control, gear slip. \r
\r
\r
Welcome to Sterling2Play the channel where we take a quick look at toys, gizmos, and stuff.. \r
\r
Today we have the Kid Galaxy Morphibians Shark Amphibious remote control car. \r
I got fun little toy for $18 at costco. \r
I imagine myself driving this around the house, playing with it in the pool. \r
But is this really that fun? lets find out! \r
\r
Unboxing - \r
You will need a #2 screwdriver to get it out of the packaging. 4 screws anchor it to the bottom of the box. Two plastic twisty tabs holding it the remote control to the box..\r
\r
Setup: \r
you need to use the #2 screw driver to remove the top canopy and then the battery case\r
Note: and bit of foreshadowing.there is not seals or water proofing in the battery case or the canopy. Heck i see cables.). The remote installs easily with a 9v batteries, it would have been better if it used AA or AAA batteries, cuz i can easily buy a rechargable AA or AAA but not a 9 Volt…. their Freaking $3-5 / at walmart. \r
\r
Anyhoo… all ready… the toy moves like a tank. \r
Basically each control stick drives each on side of the wheels. To turn you have tottle one side. to go foward or back you tottle both sticks to the front or back. \r
\r
The bad part of the controls is that its either ON or OFF there is not variable control speed so its kinda hard to control. fun but hard to get used to for fine driving.. but this is ually a plus while on water… on water its takes a lot of speed to move so full power is ually needed to drive it on water. \r
\r
Dog gone it! one of the wheels gears is stripped … bad Quality Control… FAIL\r
\r
Did i meantion the toy wasnt water tight or sealed… apparanetly this toy can float on water but cant drive or drive on to water…. \r
\r
it was very fun in the pool it moves around not very fast but for an amphibieous remote control car it was cöl!! \r
Look at the wheels turn , look at the cool yellow eyes, sharp painted teeth, and even an airfoil spoilor for speed!!! AWESOME! \r
\r
Heres the problem it went head first into the water … water got into the batteries into the housing heck it was virtually a vessell to hold water. (water sripping from the RC) … \r
After about 10 minutes it died… tried drying it out .no go … saddly my black shark Morphinians is dead… or is it… \r
\r
It was fun short but fun. but my adventure with this toy was cut rather short.\r
\r
\r
After taking it out of the water (RUST RUST RUST). not water proof not sure how 3+ year olds would be able to play with this in the tub or pool… \r
\r
on a sterling2play score of 1 to 5- i would rate it as 1 cuz it was fun but utterly not a good design for kids and pools or tub not very durable or water tight, mine came with a stripped gear. maybe i am better off with putting a motor on a rubber ducky…. \r
