South Korea's top office is focused on evaluating North Korea's pre-dawn cancellation of a planned high-level talks with the South and its threat to pull out of a historic summit next month between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump.
Officials at the Blue House, earlier this Tuesday morning, were still trying to wrap their heads around the North's surprise declaration... which came just hours before they were to head off to the border village of Panmunjom to meet their northern counterparts for a planned meeting.
In the dispatch, Pyongyang claimed it was due to the ongoing joint military exercises between South Korea and the U.S.
A key official at the Blue House said... the presidential office, at this point, was trying to figure out the North's true intention in sending out such a message and that the South Korean government's official response will be announced by the unification ministry at 10 AM, Korea time.
