Tamil Nadu 55 year old woman lynched to death

A 55 year old woman was beaten to death by a group of villagers at Athimoor village in Tiruvannamalai after they mistook her and four others for child kidnappers on Wednesday.The five person's had travelled to the village in search of their family deity temple when the incident happened. Rukmini succumbed to the injuries on the spot while four others who accompanied her she undergoing treatment. While enquiring about the way to temple Rukmini spotted two children playing in the area and offered them chocolates. They left the spot when the children's grandmother raised an alarm that a gang had come to kidnap the children. Police assured that no child has been kidnapped and requested the public to not take the law in their hands. So far 23 people from the area have been detained for questioning. Rukimini is survived by her daughter.
