India के पूर्वी राज्य Meghalaya में स्थितGaro mountain श्रृंखला अपने घने जंगल और वन्यजीवन के रहस्यों के लिए जानी जाती है। प्राकृतिक सौंदर्यता से सराबोर यह पहाड़ी क्षेत्र प्रकृति प्रेमियों और एडवेंचर के शौकीनों को बहुत आकर्षित करता है।
गारो हिल्स का एक खूबसूरत पहाड़ी पर्यटक स्थान है Tara Peak जो समुद्र तल से लगभग 872 मीटर की ऊंचाई पर स्थित है। तुरा हिल्स से आप तुरा शहर के खूबसूरत नजारों को आसानी से देख सकते हैं। स्थानीय लोग तुरा हिल्स को तुरा शहर का रक्षक और भगवान का निवास स्थान मानते हैं। स्थानीय मान्यता के अनुसार तुरा हिल्स शहर और शहरवासियों की रक्षा करती है।
गारो पहाड़ियों के बीच स्थित सिजू गुफा प्रकृति की एक अद्भुत संरचना है। गुफा में बनी चुना-पत्थर की संरचनाएं की यहां मुख्य आकर्षण का केंद्र है। जानकारी के अनुसार ये भारत की सबसे लंबी गुफाओं में गिनी जाती है, जिसके अंत का अब तक पता नहीं लगाया जा सका है।
तुरा का पेल्गा जलप्रपात भी यहां मुख्य आकर्षणों में गिना जाता है। मुख्य शहर से यह जल प्रपात सात किमी की फासले पर स्थित है। तुरा चोटी से लगभग दो किमी दूर, नोकरेक राष्ट्रीय उद्यान तुरा का सबसे आकर्षक स्थान है, जो अपनी समृद्ध जैव विविधता के लिए जाना जाता है।
