The video, filmed in Yichang City in central China's Hubei Province on May 1, shows six male workers standing in a line getting slapped by a female manager.
In another clip, a group of workers are crawling around in a circle on all fours.
According to local news, the six men all volunteered to be slapped as punishment after they "failed to fulfil their responsibilities."
It is also claimed that the female manager was only "going through the motions" rather than dishing out a proper slap.
The convincing slapping sound heard in the video might suggest otherwise.
