This song was originally released on AVI records in 1979 by Seventh Avenue, as part of a concept album of a gay love affair around America, love found, love lost, love reunited. And then, later that year, my friend, co-producer and mixer, Rick Gianatos, who was the person who arranged with AVI Records to release so many of my songs in the 1970's, was looking after his own group, The Love Twins, and asked me if he could make an album of all my songs we had recorded with other acts like James Wells, Seventh Avenue, L.J. Johnson, Croisette, and others. So in the end, in 1979 and 1980, we released two complete albums by The Love Twins, on AVI records, "Temptation", and "On Fire". This phenomenally rare footage from 1979, over thirty years ago, is the group performing "Miami Heatwave" from their very first AVI album. This had never been seen before until we posted it here. Many years later, Rick was an invaluable part of the whole Motorcity project in both Detroit and Los Angeles, and was my main right hand man throughout all those years.
