Ham And Reem - You Didn't Say A Word

Identical twins Ham and Reem were brought to me in the year 2000, by Nick Raymonde, from RCA records. Nick and I had been talking about finding a fresh faced, new, young act to do some Northern Soul, and Nick chose some classic songs, one of which was this timeless wondrous song, originally recorded by Yvonne Baker and acclaimed by many as one of the greatest Northern Soul songs of all time, both at Blackpool Mecca and at the legendary Wigan Casino. So massive was the popularity of this song, that it is now heavily featured in the film, "Soul Boy". There is also a scene where someone buys a copy and then smashes it against a wall to upset someone else. We carried on and cut seven songs in total with the girls. They showed great promise, but needed work and polishing, and I wanted to persevere, but Nick lost interest, so the recordings went to waste. Their version of Curtis Matyfield's "Move On Up' was just mind blowing. We also wrote a great new song called "Hanging Up The Phone", and a great cover of Tobi Legend's "Time Will Pass You By". What a shame these tracks that I did with them were never released.
