Honda CBR250R Review

Overview
2018 Honda CBR250R was recently launched in India for INR 1,63,584 (ex-showroom Delhi). Not just that, Honda even brought the ABS equipped model in India for INR 1,93,107. The design language remains exactly the same as first generation CBR250R while use of better LED lights and paint combinations has made CBR250R a great option to own.
It comes powered by the tried and tested, ultra reliable 249.6cc, liquid cooled and fuel injected engine producing 26.5 PS at 8500 rpm and 22.9 Nm at 7000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Honda uses 110/70-17 front and 140/70-17 rear tyre for maximum grip levels. ABS version offers Nissin brake calipers and thus, command suh high premium than the non ABS version.
Front disc measures 296 mm while rear is 220 mm in diameter. As the bike weighs 167 kg, it performs extremely well when compared to heavier bikes with bigger engines. Fuel tank still carries 13 liters of petrol and thus, one can expect 400 kilometers of overall range. Highway riding can offer even better range as most owners use their CBR250Rs for long distance touring due to its reliable nature.
CBR250R is available in Matte Axis Grey Metallic with Orange and Striking Green (two different shades), Pearl Sports Yellow and Sports Red shade. Front LED headlight is placed within the same sort of space and thus, one can replace their existing halogen units with this one easily. Instrument console on CBR250R is semi digital with analog tachometer and digital speedometer. Honda CBR250R rivals many bikes but closest possible option is KTM RC200.
The price gap is minimal between both these. When it comes to ABS variant, it challenges recently launched TVS Apache RR 310 in India. Both have a price gap of INR 22,000 in some states and just INR 3000 in Kerala.
