Decline of export rates in April

Korea's exports had been on an upward trajectory for seventeen consecutive months,... but now the export rate is on the decline.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced the estimated total value of exports in April was 50 billion U.S. dollars.
The export rate has decreased by 1.5 percent compared to April last year.
Meanwhile, the import rate increased by 14.5 percent compared to the previous year.
But Korea has still maintained its trade surplus for the 75th consecutive month.
Despite the falling export rates in April, the cumulative exports for January-to-April were the highest on record,... increasing by 6.9 percent compared to the previous year.
