BMW X2 Concept at Paris 2016: bold coupe-SUV fills another niche

BMW has revealed another future addition to its SUV line-up, the Concept X2. The new model was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, and is designed to slot between the X1 crossover and larger X3 SUV. It's the third Sports Activity Coupe to be launched by BMW, following on from the larger X6 and X4, although the Concept X2 does have a more practical look about it. It previews a production model on its way for a debut in 2018.
According to design boss Adrian van Hooydonk, the Concept X2 is designed as a vehicle that "combines enjoyment with practicality", while Head of Design Karim Habib highlighted that the car "combines the fast-moving body language and low-slung proportions of a coupe with the robust construction of an X model".
