Ford to Shed All North American Cars Except Two Ford Motor Co. announced Wednesday that the Mustang and compact Focus crossover will be the only two car models in North America by 2020. The move comes as the automaker plans to save money, respond to declining demand and profitability and increase competition in the marketplace. The company will save money from engineering, product development and other areas, resulting in over $14 billion in cuts come 2022. Ford’s revenue rose 7 percent to $41.97 billion this year, and it made $1.74 billion from January to March, or 43 cents per share.
