Baboons Escape From Texas Biolab Enclosure

Three baboons recently liberated themselves from the Texas Biomedical Research Institute (TBRI).
TBRI holds about 2,500 animals used to test vaccines and drug therapies, including 1,100 baboons.
The baboons are kept in a large open pen with climbing structures and blue 55-gallon barrels
The grain-filled barrels are meant to be rolled and shaken, in an effort to mimic foraging.
This enclosure's inward-leaning walls have prevented the baboons from escaping for about 35 years.
