Robot builds Ikea chair in 20 minutes

Scientists in Singapore have developed a robot that could solve what can sometimes be the confusing and frustrating task of assembling packed furniture.
After three years of development, researchers at Nanyang Technological University made two robotic arms and gave them the task of assembling a chair from Ikea.
The robot's array of 3D cameras and sensors helped it complete the task in 20 minutes.
It does, however, have its limitations as it was programmed to carry out the sequence of events needed for construction.
In the future, scientists hope the system can put together any piece of flat-pack furniture simply by studying its instructions.
They also hope to expand the technology to the automotive industry.
