At 3:00 this afternoon a beautiful adult golden eagle was returned to the sky.\r
On Saturday May 11th a large male golden eagle was struck by a car as it fed along the highway on road kill. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources was called in to pick up the eagle. The bird was transported to the Southwest Wildlife Foundation where federally licensed wildlife rehabilitator, Mr. Martin Tyner, gave the bird a complete physical examination. The eagle was banged up but not severely injured.\r
After a couple of days of observation and good food this beautiful symbol of freedom was returned to the sky.\r
Mr. Mark Browne, a volunteer for the Cedar City Police Department was given the honor to release the eagle to the wild.\r
