Paul Ryan Exits Congress After 20 Years Of Service

On Wednesday the beltway was abuzz as House Speaker Paul Ryan of Wisconsin announced he would not seek re-election in the 2018 election season. There has long been speculation that Ryan would not return. Ryan confirmed that he does plan to serve out his term through January 2019 marking 20 years of service in Congress. Ryan stressed his confidence that he would be “leaving this majority in good hands with what I believe is a very bright future.”
