Also located in New York city, this statue immortalized the Husky named Balto, located at the Tisch county zoo located in Central Park. This cat from Turkey became an internet celebrity and a sensation in his hometown of Istanbul when a photo him hanging out on the curbside went viral. Over 17,000 people demanded that they build a memorial dedicated to this cat according to the deputy mayor. The word Tombili is a turkish word that is often used for chubby pets. The internet got to work with photoshop and turning him into memes but later in his life he was struck with a mysterious illness which he could not overcome. This brought on a movement and a statue was build in his honor. People often come by the memorial and leave cat food as a sign of respect.The statue was complete on world animal day on October 4th, where hundreds of people came by to show their gratitude. On top of a cliff in eastern Washington State, passersby might come across a beautiful monument that at first appears to be wild mustangs looking over the edge of the plateau. A total of 15 horse sculptures were made are waiting for visitors to stop by to get a closer look.
