Former Memphis Sanitation Worker Continues Fight for Workers` Rights

Baxter Leach, 78, says when he moved to Memphis in 1960 he thought his new job would be better than the one he'd left in Mississippi. He quickly learned black sanitation workers faced the same fate collecting trash on the streets of Memphis as he had in the cotton fields of Mississippi where his boss refused to allow him to take breaks and eat.
