Fish curry is prepared using south Indian style of cooking.This is my version of cooking. Fish curry is prepared using fresh curry powder,which has been explained the video.The fish is cooked with the spices,shallots,garlic,tomato and tamarind. Adding coconut is optional.Fish curry preparing with sesame oil gives more taste and richness.For coconut based fish curry (no tamarind) coconut oil preferable.I have done 22 types of fish fry and curry recipes.you can watch recipe videos in my site. Tilapia Fish Curry Ingredients\r

Tilapia Fish - 750 gms\r
Tamarind diluted water- 300 ml\r
Shallots - 10\r
Green Chillies -4\r
Tomatoes-2\r
Garlic cloves-10\r
Turmeric powder-1/4tsp\r
Salt to taste\r
Oil\r
\r
For Tempering/Tadka\r
\r
Mustard seeds -1/2tbsp\r
Urad Dal -1/2 tbsp\r
Hing-1 pinch\r
Curry leaves few\r
\r
Garnishing\r
Coriander Leaves few\r
\r
\r
For the Grinding\r
\r
\r
Red Chillies -15\r
Coriander seeds - 5tbsp\r
Mustard seeds -1/2tbsp\r
Urad dal -1//2tbsp\r
Methi seeds - 1/4tbsp\r
Pepper - 1/4tbsp\r
Cumin seeds- 2tbsp\r
Curry leaves few\r

Preparation method:\r
\r
Wash and clean the fish steaks with salt and turmeric.\r
Heat oil in a pan, add the ingredients that kept for grinding and roast it till it gets nice aroma.\r
Add the roasted spices to a blender, and make a fine paste.\r
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, Urad dal, hing and curry leaves.\r
Add green chillies and saute it\r
Add chopped onions and saute it.\r
Add garlic cloves and saute it\r
Add chopped tomatoes and saute it\r
Add tamarind water , ground masala paste, turmeric and salt.\r
Mix it well and cook it in a high flame for few mins \r
Once its boiled add fish pieces and cook it in a medium flame for 8 mins.\r
Add coriander leaves aaand switch off the flame.\r
Serve it hot with rice, idli or dosa
