Build a Rabbit Hutch Design #2

40 izlenme
A DIY rabbit hutch that adds privacy for all furry creatures that inhabit it. The installation of a solid bottom would make this hutch good enough to keep your rabbit(s) inside as well. \r
\r
We place a grass mat inside so that our bunny has the option of getting off the hardware cloth if she so desires. \r

Additional info about sore hocks:\r

Rabbits can turn up with sore hocks on any type of flooring. The condition known as Ulcerative Pododermatitis has many known causes such as hard surfaces, exposure to constant moisture, compromised immune system, excessive thumping and berial infection.\r
\r
All wire bottom floors can cause problems IF the grid spacing of the wire is too wide and the gauge of wire used is too thin. I recommend no more than 1/2 spacing with 16 gauge wire. 1/4 spacing with 23 gauge wire may be used for smaller breeds of rabbits. I also recommend it be galvanized to prevent rusting.\r

Additionally, the inclusion of something as simple as a piece of cardboard or a grass mat will provide entertainment as well as a place to lounge if they wish to get off the wire.\r
\r
In the summer time our rabbits lounge on the wire and in the winter they dont seem to care.\r
