Everyone knows the famous sandwich cookie, The Oreo! Two delicious little chocolate wafer cookies sandwiched between white vanilla filling that now can be made in your very own home.\r
How sweet is that? Enjoy!\r
\r
Recipe:\r
1 1/2 cups flour\r
1 cup sugar\r
3/4 cup cocoa powder; divided between special dark and natural cocoa powder\r
pinch of salt\r
1 1/2 sticks butter, cold and cubed\r
1 tablespoon milk\r
\r
Filling:\r
1/2 cup - 1 cup confectioner sugar\r
1 tablespoon water\r
\r
\r
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.\r
In your food processor, combine dry ingredients pulsing a couple of times. Add cubed butter and give mixture a whirl til crumbly. Pour in milk and combine til dough just comes together. Place dough onto counter and with the heat of your hands knead dough back together til no more crumbles appear. Pinch off pieces of dough and roll into marble shaped balls, then press into your Oreo mold. Peel dough out and place onto Silpat lined baking sheet. \r
*Note: You can place your cookies close together because these dont spread. \r
Bake for 15 minutes exly. Let cool and fill.\r
Meanwhile, in a small bowl whisk together your filling.\r
