How to Kill the Leprechaun

With St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner, it’s important to know how to kill a particular mythical creature. The little trolls are notorious for hording gold and cleaning shoes but there hasn’t actually been a real-life Leprechaun siting. But today, we’re referring to the dastardly creature out for blood in the "Leprechaun" horror movies.
Released in 1993, the film follows Dan O’ Grady who steals the leprechaun’s gold while on vacation in Ireland. This leads to a murderous rampage on the part of the little green creature, who's out to teach any gold stealers a lesson. But as it turns out, another symbol synonymous with St. Patrick’s Day, the four-leaf clover, leads to his demise.
But if you don’t have a four-leaf clover lying around, you can also slay the thing with iron. In the Leprechaun sequel, the little creature is out for blood, and a lady to marry, as his celebrates his 1,000th birthday. It’s actually a pretty common counter in folklore and apparently sets little Irish murderers’ insides on fire.
Smelting is also a way to rid yourself from them, as the third sequel demonstrates. After terrorizing a fair ground, the leprechaun is eventually lit on fire along with his pot of gold.
