How to make a mausoleum facade or false front to cover your house for Halloween. This video will give you some behind the scenes design ideas and plans when building a halloween mausoleum facade or scenery. In this home haunt related video we share an up close behind the scenes look and the setup process of one of our Halloween yard decorations The Graveyard Skull Mausoleum which goes in our cemetery home haunt during Halloween. One of our goals each year is to hide the house that sits behind the haunt and one great way to do this is having large facades. Storage is always tricky so its a good idea to do your best to design everything to break down in a nice way so that it stacks and fits together the rest of the year. Its constructed of 1 x 3 framing and skinned with 1/4 Luan underlament and use small pieces of 3/4 and 1/2 plywood for bricks that had been sanded on all edges with a sanding disk. The pillars were constructed with PVC and carved and sculpted foam capitals. Above the door way sat a large decorative roof piece that was carved or sculpted from white foam block which rested on top of the columns. It had two clear plexi glass windows with decorative window clings which were back lite to give an eerie feeling as you walked into it. We placed pumpkins hooked to a lighting machine and attached LED lighting to the face to make it pop in the dark. This realistic scenic set piece is a nice clean easy to assemble design and we hope it may inspire and help anyone interested in building, constructing, or fabricating facades for Octobers great holiday.
