According to a report by Reuters, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said that President Donald Trump has discussed his proposed tariff hikes on steel and aluminum with multiple world leaders, but still has no plans to make any exemptions. Ross has reportedly looked to contain the global fallout from Trump’s tariff announcement, insisting the proposals would not damage the U.S. economy and playing down the effects of any retaliatory strikes.
