'Coco' Director Reveals 'The Shining' Easter Egg Nobody Noticed

Pixar fans have noticed over the years that a few recent Pixar films have contained references to Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. Lee Unkrich, the director of Coco has previously cited The Shining as one of his biggest influences. In a recent interview Unkrich revealed that no one seemed to spot the hidden pair of Shining characters in Coco. When Miguel visits Frida Kahlo’s studio there is a Día de los Muertos inspired painting of the twins from The Shining.
