Nepal quake: Facebook, Google, pitch in through safety check and people finder

At a time when people want to be assured that their loved ones are safe, technology and social media platforms are doing their bit to help friends and family stay connected. Facebook activated Safety Check for people affected by the earthquake. “If you're in one of the areas affected by the earthquake, you'll get a notification asking if you're safe, and whether you want to check on any of your friends.”
