Ken Roczen San Diego Crash

After going down in the first turn, Roczen was attempting to make a move on Cooper Webb in a corner when it looked like he somehow looped out. After Roczen took Webb down his hand ended up getting sucked into Webb’s rear wheel and swingarm area. Early evaluation by the Alpinestars Mobile Medical Unit suggested Roczen has suffered a fracture to the second metacarpal in his right hand which for those of you that don't know that would be his front brake finger. Roczen let his ego get the best of him early in the race with 17 minutes still to go after Cooper Webb put a similar pass on Roczen in the previous corner obviously with more control than Ken had. Roczen who was sitting comfortably in 2nd place behind Anderson may have just thrown his Championshp hopes away for 2018 after such a hard faght comeback! Roczen stated he will be going in for surgery on Friday.
