Barrage of winter storms across the nation

Good afternoon, what's likely to be the season's final cold snap has hit its peak with cold wave alerts in place across much of the country along with dry air.

This afternoon, Seoul will only rise to minus 6 degrees Celsius, while Jeju will see snow all day into early tomorrow morning.

This cold snap will ease starting Thursday with highs finally bouncing back to positive territory. The days are still shorter, and the lack of sunlight causes daytime drowsiness.

To be better rested in cold weather, it's essential to set the thermostat to between 15 and 21 degrees Celsius and the humidity level to between 40 and 60 percent. Also experts suggest limiting your sleep to no more than eight and a half hours.

As for the weather outlook in PyeongChang, a colder Tuesday is in store under sunny skies so you will need to cover up.

With that, let's take a look at the international weather for viewers around the world.

While the brutally cold weather freezes most regions in South Korea, many areas in North Korea are having even colder conditions with lows nearing minus 30 degrees this morning.

As for the rest of Asia, the long cold winter is still biting in Beijing as well, expect to see highs nearing minus 10 degrees for another week or so.

Meanwhile, it's Waitangi Day in New Zealand which is the national day of New Zealand... Beach and barbecue weather is in store for much of the North Island but you'll see icy conditions at the bottom of the South Island.

Heading to North America, Montreal will have more snow this week, as an active and unsettled weather pattern remains in place.

As for South America, Bogota, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro will have another rainy day.

Taking you to Europe,.. Much of France is still drying out after weeks of rain that caused flooding in Paris and its surrounding area but it was the return of the icy weather that sparked more warnings on Monday.

Lastly to Africa, Algiers will have a rainy Tuesday with cooler highs.
