Nazi-Looted Art On Display At Louvre

The Louvre Museum is putting 31 paintings on permanent display in an attempt to find the rightful owners. The artworks were all looted by Nazis during World War II. The Louvre's head of the paintings department said, "Museums often looked like predators in the past, but our goal is to return them." The majority of the retrieved artworks were plundered from Jewish families during World War II. Between 1940 and 1945 thousands of artworks were looted in France by German forces.
