Three girls were slapped 168 times over a period of six days by their classmates at Jawahar Navodaya School in Madhya Pradesh’s Jhabua. The act was done as punishment on the instructions of their teacher. One of the victims informed that since she had not completed her homework, her teacher asked her classmates to slap her. The accused teacher, on the other hand, claimed that it was not a harsh punishment as she was not slapped hard. He insisted that they were not strong slaps but mild and friendly ones. The father of one of the victims has filed a police complaint.
