Better than STARBUCKS SCONES!

  • 6 лет назад
HI! Here is my favorite scone recipe and have been using it for years! I always get compliments when ever I make them! Please give them a try!\r
\r
INGREDIENTS\r
\r
2 cups flour\r
2 tbsp of sugar \r
1 tbsp and 1 tsp of baking powder\r
½ teaspoon salt\r
10 tablespoons cold butter, diced into cubes\r
1 to 2 cups of blueberries\r
½ cup of chopped pecans or walnut or any kind of nut you like (optional)\r
½ whole milk, 2 percent milk, or ½ cup of Greek yogurt\r
2 eggs\r
Raw, sugar for topping \r
Melted Butter, any kind of nut milk, or regular milk for brushing the tops\r
\r
Directions \r
Preheat oven to 400.\r
\r
Either line cookie sheet with parchment paper or brush it with oil or melted butter.\r
\r
Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl. Flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Add the cubed butter and start pinching the butter to combine with dry ingredients. Will look like almond meal or coarse meal.\r
\r
Add the blueberries and nuts. Mix the egg with the milk and pour over dry ingredients, slowly combine with spatula or spoon. \r
\r
After you form the dough, place plastic wrap on your counter and sprinkle it with flour. Turn dough onto prepared plastic wrap and four. Sprinkle dough with flour and shape it into a square. Wrap the dough with the plastic wrap and place in freezer for about 20 mins, you can leave it over night in the fridge if you want.\r
\r
After cooling, cut into triangles and brush with milk and top with raw sugar. Then bake for 15-18 mins until golden. \r
\r
I like to eat them straight out of the oven, cold, or sometimes I will pop one into a toaster oven and warm it up if I am eating them the next day, eat it with tea or coffee! I also like to add some butter or jam.\r
\r
Enjoy!!\r
