Finally we get go after the summit of Pico Turqqino, the highest mountain in Cuba. Located in NP Turquino, which is located within Sierra Maestra National Park. Yes a park within a park. The mountain is located in southeast Cuba and the trailhead was a bit of work to reach. The trek takes 2 days and must be done as a package with a government guide. We signed on at an InfoTur office a few weeks in advance. The price is fixed as are the package details. Think in terms of poor food and accommodation. This is two days of ruffing it in a jungle while steadily gaining altitude to reach a summit that needs some redesign. Check out the summit views in the video.
