A 12-mile-long ice jam on the Connecticut River threatened to cause flooding and ice-related damage in mid-January, prompting officials in Haddam, Connecticut, to declare an “emergency condition." The jam has now been cleared by the coast guard.This drone video, shot on January 21, shows the ice jam at the famous swing bridge in East Haddam, Connecticut.By January 16, the US Coast Guard had already spent several days trying to clear the ice, according to NBC Connecticut.
