As expected, Oppo today announced the launch of a new smartphone in India. Dubbed as Oppo A83, it was making the headlines over the past few weeks. Since the smartphone was first introduced in December in China, we already knew what it would bring to the table. The major highlights of the Oppo A83 are its full-screen design with an 18:9 display and the Face Unlock feature. Oppo claims that its face recognition can be as fast as 0.18 seconds. What's more interesting is that Oppo A83 doesn't feature a fingerprint scanner. When it comes to full-screen smartphones, manufacturers usually move the fingerprint scanner to the rear panel due to the lack of space at the front. However, this doesn't seem to be the case with Oppo's new offering. The company has ditched the fingerprint scanner in favor of the Face Unlock feature that can unlock the device using facial recognition feature.
