Car hits pedestrians at Copacabana beach promenade, kills baby, injures 15

A speeding car has ploughed into pedestrians on Copacabana's beach promenade in Rio de Janeiro, killing a baby and injuring at least 15 people.

Aftermath footage, captured on Thursday night by a tourist from inside a hotel, shows paramedics assisting the victims lying on the sand and pavement at the scene of the accident.

According to reports, the accident was not terror-related.
