Ricky Gervais Says Hosting Golden Globes Would Have Ended His Career

Although Ricky Gervais has hosted the Golden Globes four times, the Child Support star revealed to Stephen Colbert that he is "jealous" Seth Meyers was chosen to host this year’s ceremony, during a visit to The Late Show on Wednesday night. Gervais further explained that his unfiltered quips could've made him a perfect host for this year’s ceremony, despite the sensitive nature of the Time's Up initiative. Someone being offended now is nothing. I’m going to die," Gervais joked, after explaining earlier in the show that he had gained weight, therefore was close to death.
